AI, Sovereignty, and the Technologies of Tomorrow: SILA Union at the Forum in St. Petersburg
Artificial intelligence, digital platforms, and process automation are now the foundation of a new economic and managerial reality. The discussion of mature solutions, trust in technology, and the government’s role in shaping the digital landscape became the central theme of the 2nd National Forum "AI – The Future Is Now", one of the key annual events in the field of artificial intelligence, held in St. Petersburg. The forum brought together representatives of government, business, academia, and the IT sector to explore what a responsible path to digitalization should look like.
At the plenary session "The Future Is Now: AI for Government and Business", experts addressed emerging digital paradigms, cyber risks, international cooperation, and the need for ethical and responsible AI deployment.
Real-world case studies were presented, and effective models of digitalization were discussed. Participants placed particular emphasis on the digital maturity of regions and organizations. SILA Union was highlighted as one of the core solutions proving that Russia already has technologically mature products capable of becoming a foundation for digital sovereignty and a reliable pillar for process transformation—across all levels, from regional administration to large corporations.

A session dedicated to this topic was led by Lyudmila Gontar, a digital transformation expert, director at the Central Committee of FRCI, and a member of SILA CLUB. Participants discussed how AI can personalize learning, automate routine tasks, and strengthen analytics in education. At the same time, concerns were raised over risks such as reduced motivation, digital inequality, and the loss of creative skills. The session’s moderator emphasized that it is essential not to set AI and humans against each other, but rather to build synergy—where technology enhances human capabilities without replacing them.
The forum continued with a series of discussions and showcases of applied AI solutions in key sectors: agriculture, construction, finance, and the creative industries. All conversations converged on a crucial conclusion: the digital future is already unfolding, and its success depends on balancing technology, law, ethics, and resilient platforms. That is why it is critical today not merely to adopt individual IT tools, but to build an architecture of digital maturity—robust, flexible, and sustainable.
