Digital maturity begins with learning: SILA Union in the "Transport BPM Project" by RUTH MIIT

The digital transformation of the transport industry is possible only with the help of modern process management tools. In order for enterprises to effectively develop digital maturity, it is important to train specialists who are confident in BPM methodologies and understand how to create a sustainable management architecture. This is exactly the task that the cooperation between SILA Union and the Russian University of Transport solves.

On October 27, the Institute of Economics and Finance of the Russian Academy of Sciences (MIIT) hosted the III Scientific and Practical Conference "Transport BPM Project", which brought together experts, teachers and students who develop a culture of a process approach in transport. The event included a plenary session and the final of the interuniversity competition of master's initiatives in the field of BPM. More than 30 projects participated in the competition, of which 10 reached the final stage.

The organizer is the Council for the Development of Process Management in Transport under the leadership of Olga Efimova, Head of the Department of Economics, Production Organization and Management, Professor, Doctor of Economics.

SILA Union's role in education: a platform as a bridge between learning and real-world BPM practices

The plenary session included an expert session on key challenges and trends in the process approach, where leading industry experts spoke. Among them are representatives of SILA Union, ABPMP Russia, Russian Railways and FGC. Elena Silkina, founder of SILA Union, presented the report "Digital maturity of the transport industry: the path to efficiency with SILA Union", revealing how modern software allows:

– to model, analyze and optimize processes in a single standard;

– to shape the architecture of the enterprise and manage digital changes;

– increase the transparency and manageability of large transport systems;

– to create a unified digital environment based on domestic technological solutions.

SILA Union business architect also spoke. Vladislav Buxton, who delved into the topic of corporate architecture management and the role of process modeling in the digital transformation cycle.

The reports highlighted a key point: Corporate architecture modeling is a central tool for managing transportation organizations, especially in the context of increasing demands for efficiency and technological independence.

SILA Union is a technology partner of RUT (MIIT):

– SILA Union software is integrated into the curriculum;

– Students learn to model and analyze processes on the SILA Union platform.;

– practical competencies are being developed that are in demand in Russian Railways, FGC, logistics operators and other transport structures.

This allows future BPM specialists to work with the tool that is used in the real practice of enterprise digitalization. Thus, the university is developing the professional skills of a new generation of architects and analysts.

Final of the competition: the best BPM initiatives of undergraduates

The final of the "Transport BPM Project" competition was held at the conference site, where participants presented solutions to optimize processes, digitalize documentation support and improve logistics. The projects were evaluated by an expert jury, which included representatives of SILA Union, RUT (MIIT), JSC Russian Railways, JSC FGC, RAT and ABPMP Russia.

Education and technology: the foundation of the process transformation

The conference demonstrated that the transport industry is actively moving towards process maturity, there is a growing demand for specialists who can work with BPM tools, and practical training on the SILA Union platform helps students enter the labor market with modern competencies.

The "Transport BPM Project" has become an important platform where students gain experience in real process analysis, and a business opportunity to see future experts in action. SILA Union will continue to support educational programs, share experiences and develop tools that underpin the digital transformation of the Russian transport industry.
