SILA Union 2.1.1: Gantt Chart, Java Scripting, and 5 Whys

The SILA Union platform for enterprise architecture design and business process modeling has been expanded with a new functional framework. Release 2.1.1 expands it with tools that connect architecture and execution: a Gantt chart for project management, a "5 Whys" diagram for in-depth cause-and-effect analysis, Java script development with a full-featured debugger, video embedding from external resources in the Wiki, and an updated Demo Database with an expanded set of standard scenarios. All this is within a single workspace, without switching between third-party tools.

Gantt Chart: Project Planning

The new Gantt Chart model view in SILA Union solves a problem that teams traditionally solved using third-party planning tools: linking any corporate initiative to a calendar, resources, and responsibilities. Whether the project involves business process transformation, IT system implementation, organizational changes, or a new product launch, the project manager or architect defines phases, assigns task owners, sets durations and dependencies, and receives a timeline directly within the work environment—on top of related models, documents, and regulations. The project office, architects, and initiative owners receive a single source of truth, where the strategic outline, project plan, and related artifacts exist as layers of a single, manageable model.

The 5 Whys Diagram: Cause and Effect Analysis in Notations

This new diagram type enables methodologically correct root cause analysis of incidents and process problem areas. It visualizes the cause chain with the ability to link each level to a specific process model element, regulatory document, or control procedure. For the architect, it provides a tool for proving targeted changes; for the auditor, it provides documented traceability from problem to solution.

Java Scripting and Debugging

The SILA Union platform has expanded its tool portfolio with developer capabilities: scripts can now be written in Java, and a built-in debugger allows for step-by-step logic verification, variable inspection, and behavior validation before running on a production model. The package includes standard scripts for "Job Description," "Process Passport," and "Semantic Analysis" with a progress indicator, as well as detailed development instructions. This opens the way to customizing the platform to meet the customer's unique methodological requirements without relying on external integrators.

Video on the Wiki and updated Demo Database

The Wiki now supports videos from external resources, including RuTube. This allows the unified knowledge base to contain not only formalized regulations but also training content, such as webinar recordings, video tutorials, and interviews with process owners. The demo database has been expanded with an expanded set of standard scenarios: new users can complete key cases in a single evening and immediately assess the maturity of the tools.
