Results of the SILA CLUB discussion club meeting: combining experience to create business solutions
At the end of 2023, the first live meeting of participants in the SILA CLUB discussion club took place. Let us remind you that SILA CLUB is a community of experts in the field of process management, business architecture and digital transformation. At the last meeting, participants gathered to discuss issues of designing the company’s business architecture, including the development of the structure and models of organizational units.
The club meeting was opened by Elena Silkina, managing partner of SILA Union. Elena once again emphasized the importance of live communication and open dialogue among all specialists whose activities are related to process management. The task of the SILA CLUB community is to create an opportunity to discuss current topics and questions not only with the solution developer, but also with each other, to find answers together and develop professional knowledge. SILA CLUB is based on close cooperation with all participants, in which SILA Union is a partner who will help realize the most daring ideas.
The event was continued by Vladislav Buxton, business architect of SILA Union and moderator of the meeting, and shared the values of the club. SILA CLUB is a platform where every opinion is important, and it can be useful for both beginners and professionals. SILA CLUB will accumulate and broadcast the industry experience of participants and organizers, which will later be transformed into a finished product - standard business cases. Thus, using the developments of the global professional community, the experience of participants and organizers, opportunities arise to find the most optimal solutions. These solutions will become the basis for the formation of a knowledge base, which will reduce the level of uncertainty in such a complex subject area as process management, give an idea of the possibilities of use in companies of various levels, and also show possible ways of professional development.
Next, the meeting participants got acquainted with the report by Dmitry Kuskov, Yandex Technologies, “Building an enterprise business architecture: from idea to “Digital Twin”. Business architecture design is a fundamental topic of process management, so Dmitry, asking questions to the participants, tried to find out what experts mean by this concept and how to manage it. In his speech, Dmitry shared with the experts his vision of the company’s business architecture and presented examples of process models, strategy, goals and performance indicators.
Sergey Ovchinnikov, ISO Expert, continued the topic of designing business architecture, in particular, organizational entities, in his report “Features of using SILA Union for modeling organizational units.” Sergey indicated that the growth of the organization and the product is impossible without passionate and interested employees in changes, therefore the business must develop incentives and motivation for their development. SILA Union fully implements the capabilities for working with an organizational description, and Sergey presented a structural model of the position description, a map of the goals and objectives of the position, a subordination and management diagram, a function environment diagram, a responsibility matrix, an authority map and a role profile of the position. We completed the job description with a knowledge and competency map and an individual employee development plan.
All reports were accompanied by interesting questions and useful comments from experts and event organizers. In the process of searching for answers, some questions turned into the format of lively discussions, so the moderator of the event suggested discussing them as part of reports at the next SILA CLUB meetings.
